Sunday Traditions and more...

Well hello world! It's a beautiful Sunday morning here in Salem. Not as much blue sky as yesterday but I will take this Vitamin D any day.

Now that DH and I have two beautiful children I have been thinking more and more about family traditions. I want my kids to grow up and say, "Remember when...". My fond memories of growing up were pageantry with my mom and ANYTHING outdoors with my dad.

I loved being a girly girl and competing with my friends. We traveled, met wonderful people, and made lifelong friendships.

To now, that's me in the green - 2012

Outdoor traditions included trips to the beach and mountains for overnight camping, to day hikes, and hunting and fishing excursions. My dad's side of the family did and still does everything together and I love that. I love that I played with my cousins all the time and I love that Brody and Isabella can still enjoy their cousins just as much as I did.
Looks like a day hike with the Brentano girls.

When I say everything with the Koch family, I mean everything :) Clam digging - 2013

Hey Koch family, if you are reading this we definitely need to do something again this year!

So now I want to make traditions for my two children. My plan is for an annual camping trip in the summer time, maybe change it up every year: beach, lake, mountains. But for now I am starting small. Sunday traditions. How about a nice breakfast every Sunday morning, clean house, play outside (if nice), and blog during naps! For you, my reader, you may think a nice breakfast every Sunday is a given. But for me, I'm still trying to organize our life with a baby and a very active, almost five year old. Sometimes a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast will suffice.

So here I am, today we had pancakes and eggs for breakfast, cleaned the house, laundry almost done, baby is napping, DH and Brody went to the park to play basketball, and this is me... blogging.
Okay, so blogging with a HP keyboard because Brody spilled apple juice on the laptop. At least the computer still works. ;)
